Who we are.

Santuri Culture is the natural extension of Santuri East Africa, our non-profit music incubation hub that has been active since 2013. Example / Related  Projects

Mapping the Electronic Music Space in East Africa (2020)

During the pandemic Santuri undertook a wide-ranging mapping exercise of the electronic music scene in East Africa, with support from Ableton. The resulting report highlighted many of the key issues facing the industry in the region, and provided a set of recommendations that would form the basis of projects and programmes that have been active since.

Kilele Symposium (2024)

The first Kilele took place in February 2024 and was produced by Santuri East Africa, a music innovation hub based in Nairobi, and the Department of Music Acoustics at mdw Vienna. The event saw over 300 individual attendees visit the daytime summit program, including the talks, panels and workshops; over 1000 individual attendees visited the night time program running from Monday to Saturday.

COSMOS Embassy (2024)

Santuri is a COSMOS embassy representing the Nairobi and Kenyan music scene through the COSMOS program delveped by Le Guess Who? Festival. As such Santuri provides insights on the local scene through mixtapes, articles, and a documentary film, set to be screened at LGW 2024 in Uterecht. The film will connect different styles and diverse artists with the goal amplifying their work to a global audience.
